1. Lollapalooza – Chicago, USA
2-5 August
Lollapalooza is a famous 4-Day music festival happening at historic Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The festival was created by the member of Janes’s Addiction music band back in 1991. As a result, the festival represents one of the biggest and famous festivals of alternative music. This year line-up includes Bruno Mars, Arctic Monkeys, the Weeknd, Jack White, and Travis Scot as headliners. A great choice for your summer art calendar.
2. BoomTown Fair 2018 – Alresford, United Kingdom
9-12 August
This is going to be a mind-blowing festival experience. the reason is that the organizers created the whole pop-up city full of immersive theatrics, art installations, and literally craziness. You will find different music genres from reggae and techno to jazz.
3. Art Nocturne Knocke – Knocke, Belgium
11 – 15 August
Art Nocturne Knocke represents a collection of contemporary artists from all around the world. As the venue of the exhibition is located at the Belgium seacoast, Knocke, you can enjoy art and the sea in one place.
4. Summer Exhibition At Royal Academy of Arts – London, UK
Until 19 August
This is probably the biggest Summer Exhibition in the history of the art stage. At least in London, and at the Royal Academy of Arts. According to the description of this exhibition, all artists no matter what genre, level or origin, are welcome to present their art.
5. La Tomatina – Buñol, Spain
29 August
This is one of the most famous festivals in the world. For its host, Bunol, La Tomatina became a landmark event, attracting hundreds of visitors every year. Throwing tomatoes at other people in Spain, what can be weirder? Don’t forget to wear your worst clothing.
6. Code Art Fair – Copenhagen, Denmark
30 August – 2 September
This exhibition of contemporary art will take place in a vibrant and magic Copenhagen, and claims to be ‘the only international art fair in Scandinavia’.
7. Electric Zoo – New York, USA
31 August – 2 September
Imagine, just a few steps from a busy New York centre and you are on a magic island with beautiful nature, top-class electronic music, and art installations. The venue of the festival is located along the East River between Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx, and the island is centrally located in New York City. You can get to the festival by ferry even. This year line-up includes Marshmello, Alesso, Tiesto, Kaskade, and Mar+in Garrix.
8. Burning Man – Black Rock Desert, Nevada, United States
26 August – 4 September
If you are a festival lover, you definitely know about the maddest music and art festival of all times. This is a festival of “radical self-expression”, where you can express everything you ever dream about.
