Art. V&A, London. Inside the Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up Exhibition

Frida Kahlo is one of the most controversial artists of all time. Though her extraordinary, and, undoubtedly, genius art, we still fascinated by her own life. Especially after ‘Frida’ movie, starring Salma Hayek, she became a feminist icon who overcome all the struggles she had during her life.

“I don’t paint dreams or nightmares, I paint my own reality.”

This unique exhibition ‘Inside the Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up’ Exhibition in the V&A Museum in London I’ve already mentioned in Art Calendar 2018, represents a part of Frida’s real life.

Her belongings, clothing, and many more. During the exhibition, you may look at her prostheses and corsets that helped her to ‘carry’ her body.

Suffering almost all her life from various severe diseases, and be actually disabled, Frida created her own image that reflected her fight against circumstances, and will to live a fantastic and bright life she had.

The exhibition will pass until November 4 and was opened on June 6. And, here are some photos and media coverage from V&A Museum, expert media, and … Will Smith!

By the way, Salma Hayek has attended the exhibition bringing her amazing speech and wearing one of Frida’s ‘images’.
